The 2017 CBC Short Story Prize is now open for submissions!
Send us your original, unpublished short stories. Please note we changed the word count rules and all submissions must now fall between 1,200 and 1,800 words, including titles.
You could win $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine and a 10-day writing residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Finalists win $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and publication of their story on our website.
Past winners include Michael Ondaatje, Michael Winter and Camilla Gibb.
The deadline is October 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
