Adventures of boy doctor Shin, fighting to cure planet earth of its sickness
Boy doctor Shin is one of fifty children chosen from all the children in the world to cure Planet Earth’s sicknesses and repair damage done to it. With his grey Pelican Ko and his assistant Aki, he runs a clinic on East Island. When characters come to the clinic asking for help, Shin and Aki jump on Ko’s back and fly north, south, east, and west around the world, fighting to save plants and animals suffering from disasters and pollution. Visitors from all over the world come to Shin’s door.
One day an old owl with burns on its wings flies in from the east. He tells of a forest fire in the eastern mountains that has left all the animals homeless. The owl leaves Shin with an egg he says he rescued from the ashes of a giant tree.
Shin takes off for the eastern mountains to help the victims, but the damage is too great. On his way back, a dolphin tells him of an accident in the Northern Sea. Shin heads in that direction.
Shin wonders how he can possibly cure all the sickness in the world. He realizes one day that he is not up to the task.
Will Shin have the courage to go on being a doctor?
THE COMPANY
Since its founding, the TDC has applied its theatrical research to specific environments, developing a unique expertise on the large-scale spectacles market.
The TDC is a centre for research, creation, production, performance and specialized training in large-scale scenic arts, using various media, including “puppetronics,” to stage both indoor and outdoor productions.
Located in Montérégie (Upton is 45 minutes from Montreal) on a 15-hectare estate that includes nine buildings with a total surface area of 24,250 square feet, the TDC is a permanent centre whose excellence is founded on the mastery of its expertise and a penchant for pushing limits.
All the trades work together to promote a convergence of the imaginary and the raw materials. Throughout the past 25 years, welders, costume makers, sculptors, carpenters, electricians, pneumatic hydraulic engineering technicians, moulders and painters have brought to life characters that have drawn tens of thousands of spectators into fabulous adventures.
In its constant quest to surprise and amaze, the TDC overlays its creative approach with original allegorical concepts to evoke large-scale images.
The TDC’s know-how enables it to bring dreams to life, on demand. As a result, it can design large-scale spectacles to meet the requirements of any event that wants to set itself apart from the rest.
